Another ball
« on: September 07, 2006, 01:29:30 PM »
Ok.  What I'm about to say may be a little odd here but here goes anyways.  I need something that will out hook my thing returns.  I know, I know the Vendetta 44 Magnum right?  Actually my Thing returns outhooks it by probably 5 boards.  I'm not looking for a heavy oiler as my vendetta black solid (yes, you read that right) hooks on oil like crazy.  I need something that will fit between my black and my thing returns.  Have had 2 centrifugal mass' and the most recent is getting sold as it hooks almost identical to my 44 magnum.  Would think maybe sniper but me and that ball did not match up well at all.  Balls are layed out as follows.

Thing Returns:
...0.0
....o.
......cg
....0.

44 Magnum:
.....o
...0.0
.......cg..x hole
......
....0

Vendetta Black Solid:
......o
...0.0
........cg
............xhole
....0

Any help would be appreciated as I'm not sure what to fit in my gap.

The Thing Lives is a great ball.  I had to move inside 5-10 boards left of my normal line, something normally very hard for me, and it was awesome.  Strong in the midlane with plenty of backend for moving inside on medium-heavy even with carrydown.  Mine's drilled 3 5/8 x 3 5/8 with a weighthole on my PAP.

No, it was discontinued recently.  Some online sites still have them listed for sale, and there are probably some still at the distributors.  It shouldn't be too hard to get ahold of one.

BY looking at your drillings I'm not surprised you TR outhooks the Magnum.  Having your Pin under will start up the TR way before the 44 with the drilling you have on it.  Also, the 44 has a lower Diff than the TR.  I would get another 44 or redrill your 44 closer to your TR.  Or another good choice would be the HE.  It has a higher Diff than the 44, but a similar cover (Solid/Pearl).  Allstarjoe has them for 89 SHipped right now.  I know people were a little leary of this ball, but for what you want to do, it is a great choice as well.

I will keep those in mind.  Thanks for the help.  Just gotta unload those other 2 balls then I can try to buy another.  I'll just say with this layout the Thing Returns is a pretty big hooking ball.  Even had good movement on the Shark pattern.
