Hi All,

I was wondering, what is the ball life for a Dynothane ball with a Soaker coverstock?  I have been reading about how you do not need to clean the Soaker bowling balls often, and how the Soaker coverstock is very durable.  Well, does anyone have a Dynothane ball that has died/worn out yet?  If not, has Dynothane ever mentioned how long they should last?  Was just interested.

Yes.  After over 900 games, three resurfacings, and a couple of trips through warm water and dawn, my beloved Element finally gave out.  In essence, my experience is that the useful life of Soakers is about 2x that of other coverstocks (now that there is the CPR and "hook again").   For example, I was able to get about 400 games out of my Vendetta through use of resurfacings and "Hook Again", together with a good cleaning regimen.  

This doesn't  mean that the balls are useless, it merely means that at some point, they become stronger plastic or urethane balls and lose bite and "reaction" to a degree that they are no longer useable except on very dry lanes (pearls) or lanes with light oil and strong backends.

I just had my Thing resurfaced after changing my span + pitches.  The cover prep was supposed to be the same (gray pad on the Haus, no polish), but I swear it's 10 boards stronger now.  It's going to need a pretty good dose of polish unless I find an oil spill.  I don't have a ton of games on it, maybe 200-300, but I have no complaints at all.
