Help with my Thing
« on: March 02, 2004, 04:20:04 AM »
Now that I have your attention.  New Guy, Bam, Phillip Marlowe I need some advice on what to do.  I have had my Thing for about a year now, I am a higher speed, high track, tweener, decent revs, not much tilt.  Thing is drilled with a basic pin at 1:30, cg in palm.  It is a very condition specific ball for me, hits a ton, but only effective with a straight up, down and in condition.  If I swing it, I get a lot of over/under reaction, 4-9 adjust then bucket type of reactions.  Left it box cover forever, have tried shining it up, never recovered except in very dry condition.  Took the cover to 800 sanded, no help, starts early and ends up dead on arrival too often.  On the straight up shot that I rarely find I kill 'em with all but the shined cover.  What can I do to make it less condition specific, I'm ready to plug and redrill.  Any suggestions?

Thanks Phil, I keep thinking that I need a more aggressive drill and all I keep getting are balls that either never turn over when shined or burn up early dull. I'll give it a shot.  Thanks, again.
