Soaker Coverstock Question
« on: February 08, 2004, 08:32:31 PM »
I have gotten into the habit of always cleaning my bowling balls after each night of bowling in league.  My question is regarding the Soaker Coverstock found in the Anomaly, Element, etc...

Is it good for the Soaker Cover to be cleaned after every 3 game set?  I don't want to hurt the cover and/or actually take any reactivity out of the ball if I do so.  Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Thanks in advance.

I'll take a stab at this, but I 'd also like to know too..........

But.....I don't think it would HURT the cover.................the cover is designed to soak and dissipate the oil...HOW, who freakin' knows but,....I can't see how cleaning it would hurt...remember, there's dirt / grime on the lane too, not just conditioner..........

I'm more or less worried about getting a spotty reaction after cleaning it.

to each his own,....but go look at "Thing surface"thread, where new guy talks about cleaning..use "soap and water",.... where you bowl, how much dirt you pick up,..and your cleaning preferences are up too you...
I personally use what every the wife has under the kitchen sink this week,..Windex, 409, Simple Green,..something that will cut the dirt and grime, and wipe right off....I see no difference in the results...

I never "clean" my bowling balls.  If they get really dirty then I'll throw them on the ball spinner and clean it with some polish.  Its easy to get an approximate surface for me.  Most of my gear is medium to high polish anyways.

I have cleaned my Vendetta Particle after every set since I bought it.  I used Clean N' Dull and never polished or sanded the surface.  The ball reacts the same as the day I bought it.  Should I assume that Clean N' Dull is fine to use on the Vendetta line, but because of its aggressive cleaning nature shouldn't be used on the Soaker Coverstock line?
