Pure Energy ?...What happened to it ?
« on: November 15, 2005, 04:36:29 AM »
Seems like this ball came and went pretty quick ? I guess Dyno over shadowed it with the CM.

Buy the specs listed, looks like it might be thier "smoother" highend release in recent time.

Anybody got one they wanna sell or trade off ?

It's a great ball and yes the release of the CM did come fairly close to its release, but they are both good performing balls.

I've got one, but it's not for sale and it won't be...

Well, the pure energy rolls very well for me. I am not a fan of solid particle balls but this is very good. I like to use this ball to combat the fresh over/under. I put the pin under my ring finger and kicked the cg out and used a small hole down. I gave this ball a light coat of polish. Pretty much on the fresh the ball clears the front well, reads the midlane very well and smooths out the back end for me and hits very well. I would like to say i would like to see a strong reactive soaker cover on this core.

It's my understanding they both work on the heavier/longer patterns but get there in totally different ways... Which of the 2 (PE or CM) work better for tweeners? Anyone?

Speaking with Dyno, they did not want to overshadow the PE with the CM.  It's two different ways to skin the cat.  CM is core strong, the PE is cover strong.  They will have 2 different reactions in oil.  The PE "should" be smoother with the particle, but he CM would cover more boards.  If you go the Dyno website and show the reaction charts of the two, you should see the difference.  I am a tweener with the CM, and used a Control Cap postion.  The ball, for me, is very smooth.

I am a tweener despite my fake profile for fun, the cm i have 2 of them one with the cap in the strong position and one with the cap near the thumb for carrydown. These 2 balls do exactly and i mean exactly what the drill sheet says the stronger position ball is earlier and flares much more than the carrydown drilled ball. Anyway to the point both CM's are earlier and more angular off the breakpoints than the PE, could you carry all 3 probably not but i could easily carry 1 CM and the PE. You would see a longer and much smoothier ball reaction shape with the PE, i have mine pin above finger line 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 leveraged and it still goes long with a nice smooth arc off the breakpoint.

All 3 balls hit very well and to compare the PE to something close in reaction i would choose my trifecta if that gives you an idea if any of you own this ball too. I would rank the PE above the Trfiecta in oil handling slighltly very close almost same reaction shape, my Trifecta is drilled pin above ring and thumb hole drilled right into the rad which makes the Trifecta smoothier. I think if RAD was stronger it might be stronger than the PE not sure but good guess for my players.

Since HTK is no longer used in the urethane base the storm made balls have become much stronger in reaction, i used to order storm made balls for go longer stronger backend stuff. Now they are cleaner upfront and stronger through the entire lane which is all good with me, i think Phil and company is making top notch stuff and i will continue to buy every new release they come out with.
