This ball seems to have/be such a tricky problem.
Since it's relativity new, that is, not designed and made when the original Crisis was done by the Storm people, I wonder what the coverstock actually is. The predominant Storm coverstock when this was designed, by Phil or his Dyno-Thane people was the Monsoon coverstock which, if you look at the Hot Rod Pro STock and the Hot Rod Pro Stock pearl, is a pretty strong cover.
BTM reviewed this ball as high/excellent for medium oil and medium-light, both, a pretty unusual and rare recommendation. They also reviewed the above 2 Hot Rods in a similar, if not identical manner. (I'm ignoring BTM's evaluation numbers here, because I do NOT want to start an off-topic agruement or discussion.)
The CP's core RG is medium to medium-high, around 2.58 and the RG differential is medium low, around 033. So, it's capable of 2-4" of flare.
BTM's torque evaluation also indicated it had the potential to be a very good control ball for wet/drys, EVEN THOUGH it is apearl resin ball.
Based on all the above, I really wanted to try one, but the occasion never presented itself.
