I used to be a long time fan of Lane#1 and that was all I used. But due to my continued troubles with their BOMB cores in my hands (very over/under for me), I have officially given up on them and will now focus all of my attention to Dyno-Thane!
I love The Thing more than any other ball I have ever owned (and I've owned just about every Lane#1 ball starting with the Black Raspberry up to the Black Cherry BOMB)! I believe the Soaker coverstock is the best cover on the market right now. I am pretty sure a sanctioned 300 and 800 will be in my future a lot sooner if I stick with Dyno-Thane than with another ball company. I've come so close to my perfect game with The Thing. It's always a 10 or 8 pin that gets me. Or sometimes the dreaded 8-10 split from what looks to be a perfect pocket shot. Oh well, there's a lot of that in my house, and I beleive it's the 30 year old pinsetters or it's most likely the bowler...not the ball.
I want to try an Element for heavier oil and a The Thing Returns for drier conditions. Is there much difference between the Element and The Thing? Or should I go with the Vendetta Particle for a bit more oil than The Thing may be able to handle?
Also, when do you think you all will be discontinuing the Element and The Thing? I would like to know how much time I have to buy an Element and another The Thing.
Does Dyno-Thane offer a test staff membership? If so, I would be interested.
By the way, I have had my Tour Ultras for over 6 months now and I still think they are the best bowling shoes on the market also!
Thanks Phil, and I know you'll keep up the great work!
P.S. - Your customer service rocks too! I called the Dyno-Thane office per your suggestion on obtaining a replacement #5 slide sole for my Tour Ultras that is not currently available through my pro shop. I was taken care of and received my sole promptly.
