Vendetta Particle
« on: November 08, 2004, 11:25:32 PM »
Quick question about the VP, I know it's a particle, low RG, med diff.  This would make it a rather rolly ball, right?  And pretty strong too, well, I suppose if it's not strong enough, I can always wetsand it down.  Well if I'm looking for a rollier drilling, what type of layout would I be looking for?  Something similar to a 10:30?  Or maybe a 3 3/8 x 3 3/8?  Any help would help.  Thanks in advance!

Sorry Jim, I just re-read my question and "yikes!" it's pretty badly worded...here's hopefully a better try.

In it's most basic form, my question pertains to what type of layout I would need to put on a Vendetta Particle to get a rolly ball for heavier oil, but still have a bit of continuation in the backends.  I know I can play with the cover a bit, but the important part for me is to not have the ball rollout at the arrows.  I'm a high-tracker, 15-16 mph speed, good amount of revs.  As always, all help is appreciated.

The Vendetta Particle is not really a heavy oil ball.  It is a light to medium load particle ball that, if drilled correctly, is surprisingly angular.  I tried making it an "early rolling" ball and found that it lost too much energy on mediums through medium heavy, even with carrydown, but did not retain the energy I would like for the back.  Drill it up 4x4 or 4x5 and I think you'll like the results better, even if you have to play it a little straighter.  In my humble opinion.
