D/T gone?
« on: June 18, 2007, 08:22:23 AM »
Was there ever a decision made about the future of D/T?

I remember that Phil said something about it going to international sales only.

I noticed today on 123bowl.com that D/T is no longer listed under companies.

Just curious.

International only for now, if sales fade off they will phase out the whole line within a year or so.

Nut's right.  The DT name is owned by Ebonite and is now an international brand, sold only overseas.  But the DT spirit (Phil Cardinale, Soaker) has moved on to 300 Global (maybe 900 Global if 300 isn't enough).

Phil says they will be shipping in July:

July it is. And a mid performance ball in Sept. That will be the start of the arsenal. Both will be displayed at Bowl Expo.

Nut, thanks for the clarification.   I was trying to look up an older ball and noticed that the D/T link was gone.  I did see it under "Overseas," but all the US balls are listed under Discontinued Ball Manufacturers.

300global.com says 900 Global.

Not everywhere.  The big fancy graphic at the top says "900 Global", but the text below it says "300 Global" repeatedly.  The contact information at the bottom says "300 Global", as does the copyright notice and the title of the page in my web browser's title bar.

One could just as easily argue that 900global.com says 300 Global.

It's 900Global.

Ebonite wasn't thrilled with the use of "300" so to avoid litigation the name was changed to 900.
