First foray into surface prep: Vendetta Sniper
« on: January 31, 2006, 06:50:47 AM »
I've only thrown it for about 15 games thus far, so I'm certainly not ready to adjust the cover, but I thought this might be a good opportunity to learn about some specific things I could do to change the Sniper.  I've never sanded anything, and only ever polished up my V2 Power in the Lustre King for more length.  Any of you that have thrown this ball, what kind of adjustments did you make to the surface, and why?

Read my review of the two snipers that I got to test.

The high pin one I have set to a 4000 Abralon finish.  I found the box finish was just a little early for my tastes and I wanted the ball to finish a little bit hard so I changed the surface.

The low pin version I tried in box condition, 400 abrolaon and finally polished.  I actually liked it polished the most as it allowed me to get further right of the other sniper and play a more direct and arcing shot.

Just depends on what you currently see out of your sniper and what you want it to do differently...if anything.
