Threshold Coverstock Surface Changes
« on: October 05, 2006, 12:33:23 AM »
I have seen people discuss changing the surface to 2000 grit and from what I've read the change has worked well.  Are you adding polish to the ball as well, or are you just keeping it at 2000 sanded?

I would like to throw this ball more, but It seems like every time I throw it, it just burns up.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I have no need to polish it at 2000 grit, reads too well at 2000 without the snappy motion the polish would lend for my game.

I changed mine to 1500 smooth by using Tracks Clean N Smooth. I liked it OOB but I like trying new surfaces since I have a spinner. The 1500 is nice. I'm not gonna polish b/c this ball would be to violent at the breakpoint. With a dull cover it keeps it smooth and still has a strong arc. I would think polishing this ball would cause it to be too violent at the break.

I have 2 one 4" pin to pap, mb 5 1/2" from PAP, or in my case in the thumb hole, pin is up 3" (4 x 5 1/2 x 3" )this one will turn on a dime

#2 is 4 x 4 1/4 x 2 1/2 this one not as sharp at the break, rolls a tad earlier with a smoother shape, more controlable.
