Now with the Anomaly pics and specs. Take a gander.

I called Phil and Billy at DT HQ and guess where they were?  At the bowling center throwing their newly arrived Anomalys.

Humph!

The Flood is calling to me!

Tony, appears to be an additonal piece (yellow) added that's not in the Thing core

Yup... That outer core was in the Heat, if I remember correctly. But Phil improved the Thing's core where he was able to achieve the numbers without it.  I'll let Phil chime in here, but I think the core with that flip block changed the dynamics enough to warrant the outer core.

I've called my local Hookahaxie Tribe and asked their medicine man to conjure the gods of heavy oil to flood my league lanes tonight.

Is this a particle ball as previously expected or just another reactive resin?

It has the same coverstock as the Element, but they are very different balls.

The Element is not considered a true heavy oil ball.  The Anomaly is.  I had a hard time keeping the Element on the lane, so I know I'm in for it with the Anomaly.  Two people told me not to even drill it... that I won't be able to use it.  I'll have it drilled tomorrow, we'll see.

How does this ball hook in a flood and not be particle?

I know it doesn't need to be particle to hook but for a flood the ball will need some type of traction right? If this is the same coverstock as the Element and the Element isn't an oiler what makes this ball the one for floods? No doubt it will hook off the lanes on THS but how is it the ball for floods?

Unlike many other manufacturers, newguy (Phil Cardinale) tests his balls and does not prevaricate (make up stories) nor does he use his customers as unwitting testers. If in doubt, wait for some reviews which you will believe.

Have you tried any of the Dyno-Thane balls since Phil has taken over DT? If so, have they failed to be what Dyno-Thane said they were or would do? If you haven't tried any, please do. They are a very honest product.

I've talked to Phil about the Anomaly.  He told me that the way this ball hooks doesn't make a sense, when you consider the numbers.  The RG/Diff do not justify the boards it covers.  Hence, the ball name... the Anomaly.

For what it is worth, I think The Element is a monster ball. So much ball, I can't use it.  And it IS what I use on the flood.  Early reports say that the Anomaly is more ball than the Element.  Truth be told, I doubt this ball will have a useful spot in my arsenal.

I received mine yesterday.  I hope to have it drilled today or tomorrow.  I will report back with my thoughts.
