Dynothane Balls....Release Sensitive?
« on: May 26, 2003, 07:28:39 AM »
I am relatively new to bowling (bowling for 2 years now) and am very interested in Dynothane line of balls - specifically the Thing and/or the Vendetta Reactive. Before I buy one of these balls I would like to know what experiences others have had with Dynothane balls. Do they need to be rolled more end-over-end or can they be spun a little? Although I am capable of altering my release to roll or spin a ball I was just wondering if these balls would match up with my "A-Game" which is to spin/release the ball with more of a 90 degree rotation in order to generate a big backend snap.

Thank you in advance for your time and advice - Jeff

Thanks for the reply terminator. I am definitely going to buy a Thing now and may try the Element as well. I just needed to know because my area proshop may be closing for the summer months and I wanted to get another ball before I go to some upcoming local tournaments.
P.S. What type of drilling would one put on the Element/Thing if it would be thrown on a reverse-block pattern (which is becoming more and more popular at the tournaments I go to).

new guy: "dished out lanes"

Never heard that term before. What does it mean?

Thanks for the help everybody. I am off to the proshop tomorrow and I will be getting a Barrage and a Thing. The Barrage sounds like it would work well on the local house's summer league shot as well which gives me all summer to get acquainted with it before any major tournaments next year.

Once again, I appreciate your help as I am still learning about ball dynamics and drill layouts - Jeff
