Vendetta .357 Magnum and Element Ne10

I know this area is all but dead I was just curious if any one out there is still using either of these two bowling balls and what they think.

I have one of each NIB coming in next week and trying to get a feel for what people think besides whats already posted under the reviews section.

I have a 357 Magnum, it''s laid out something like this:

-------------P
------O---O
--------------C
----------------X
--------O

FOR ME it is the strongest pearl ball I''ve ever used, I can''t believe it''s a pearl at that.  It''s also one damn sexy bowling ball!!!

The RG is very low and has a pretty good DIF so it gets into a roll sooner than most solids.  However it clears the heads very well like a pearl or at least well enough so it doesn''t stand up too soon. It also saves more then plenty energy to finish very hard.  It''s not a skid snap reaction but a very strong arc motion and responds to friction quickly.

The strength of movement may take some while to get used to but it is still more predictable and controllable than what can be considered skid snap type of equipment.

It plays well for me from way deep inside and can carry with authority from the 40 board for medium rev players. (~325RPMS)

Because of the inner/outter core design it hits very hard too, maybe too hard tossing pins all over.  I find with some of the older DT stuff I leave a lot of power 10 pins just because the three pin doesn''t stand a chance.

Sad to say I like this ball sooooo much I do not use it for fear it will get ruined.

My cousin still throws the 357. I have thrown it a lot as well and I agree that it is a very strong pearl. He uses it as a minor step down from his buzz bomb. I would say it is more rolly than skid snap also.

Out of the two I like the 357 much better...as previously stated, it's a really strong pearl and could hang in the oil with some of the solids.  For me and another guy my area the Ne10 acted like a bad core / shell combination...basically it wanted to either rev up early due to the core but when we moved into the oil more it would read enough.

Hey if you like Dyno stuff...I've got a couple 15lb'rs NIB at home if you are interested?  Drop me a PM.

Thanks for the feedback. I''m excited about the 357, as for the Ne10 from what I''ve read on reviews I think it is more of a medium oil ball. I''m considering trying a modified rico pattern on this ball and use it for playing more up the out side. My experiences with this pattern so far have been great and I think it will work well on this ball as well.

I appreciate the offer on the other Dynothane stuff. I may have to pass though. I wasn''t looking to by this but I was talking to the owner of the local shops and he said they found these two in the back at one of his shops and gave me a price I couldn''t refuse.

I also wanted them since they came from the old plant in San Antonio. The cores in these two are very popular and used in a lot of different 300inc bowling balls over the years.

Teh Ne10 is a great ball. I have one driled pin in ring, which is 5 from PAP for me. I feel like a ricop drill would be to smooth for this ball, it is alreadfy smoother with good backend punch. I kinda wished i would have went with the pin above the fingers.

On medium conditions it is almost the perfect ball, carries very good. Heabier carrydown is not its strong suit, if you have clean to semi clean backends this will be a great ball. I can play the track or get in and swing it.

Excellent benchmark ball, probably the best I have used for that purpose so far. I still use this ball and still love it.

I do not know your style but I feel you will really like this ball

Kid,

Just a word of caution on using a Rico drill on the NE10.
It is/was meant to be a benchmark on medium oil. As such, it is also, as has been mentioned, a control ball. I'd hesitate a lot to put such a control drilling on what is already a control ball UNLESS you have a good deal of tilt or rotation or you're going to use it on short oil with dry backend. I only fear you'll kill all the backend and the drive on the ball.

You indicate you want to play an outside line with it. If you do "rico" it, I hope you either have a lot of ball speed or they're pretty oily outside.

Wow.  Would love to know how you got hold of a .357.  I loved that ball, condition-specific though it was for me (probably more me than the ball).  When it matched up, it was killer.

Luck of somebody cleaning out one of the local shops and finding both in 15lbs laying in the back. I also got a Nuline X-celerator from him for $60 two years ago with the same core and similar cover to the .357  I still have it waiting to be drilled as well.

http://www.ballreviews.com/Reviews/Reviews.asp?ManufacterID=9&BallID=282

From what I''''ve read the NE10 isn''''t super aggressive which is great and why I think the Rico pattern will work well. I have above average revs and this pattern or the modified version with the pin about an inch right of my center grip line just rolls awesome. I may go with the modified.

I have over spent on bowling balls after selling five this month. I have these two to pickup this week. Got a NIB 15lb Wild Thing coming in tomorrow for $67 shipped and 3 Morich 15lb NIB balls coming in wed for $180 shipped thanks to bowlingball.com

Got to stay off the internet for awhile before the wife finds out. lol Too much stuff for just one person.

I had both and thought they were great pieces, the Ne10 was a super control solid, I won the Men's City Tourney with it the 1st week I had it. The 44 Mag was a very strong pearl, still see a few of them being thrown in my local house, still hooking coast to coast.
