According to the D/T website, the Element is meant to read earlier and gives more overall hook. I find it to be the opposite? Mine are both drilled the same and kept at 1000-grit, in comparison to the Solid, the Element seems to go longer, smoother and gives less hook, it doesn't 'flip' like its weight block suggests. What are yours' like?

They are different coverstocks and they are meant for different oil patterns although there should be some overlap. If you are using them on the same oil pattern, then it and your release might make the Vendetta Black more appropriate for you. The ELement appears to need more break-in, in order for it to reach more of its potential. The VB is also meant more as an alternative to the Vendetta Pearl.
There are many circumstances where balls overlap. I am slightly surprised your driller advised you to get both balls and to drill them the same.
If these 2 balls remain similar for you, I'd put a *slight* polish on the VB. That will certainly differentiate them more.

4 X 3 is my favourite layout and most of my balls are drilled like this. It makes it easier for me to compare balls. Having said that I do vary the balance holes size and position and the balls surface depending where they sit in my arsenal.
