Energy Help
« on: February 15, 2006, 03:52:27 AM »
Hey all, I prchased a used fully plugged Energy from buddiesproshop. The ball is in great shape and plug work is great. Out of curiousity I emailed Dynothane the serial numbers To see if it was a bad ball. They said it was one of the "straighter ones" my question is what can I do with this ball? I figured buddies might have already checked theres but guess not. Is it worth drilling or am I SOL and just have a piece of junk on my hands. Any help appreciated.

since you already have the ball why not use it. Several of the first runs didn't have the right 'mix' to make the ball hook as much as we wanted. But the ball can still be used for lighted oil conditions,..I still have one of the originals that I took right off the PBA truck when they first came out and have found it very useful on later blocks when the lanes dry up or get tracked out. Mine is drilled 4 x 4 and shined, works fine and has a bunch of big games on it,..jim

Hey, thought about using it but don't know how to drill it. I have a high track and this ball has about a 2 1/4" pin. Any drilling suggestions would be appreciated. The pin is to short to put it over the bridge I believe. Any drilling suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't drill it weak!!  I drilled my frist one with a 5"+ pin to PAP distance and the ball just wouldn't wrinkle unless the lanes / track area was really dry.

You can still drill it with the pin above the bridge, just go deeper with the finger holes to take out the finger weight you get from having the CG above the center of the grip.

The truth is you can still use it. With one of the first runs I shot an 8 series with it. You will just need to watch the surface as you play with and it gains some life...

Thought about drilling it stacked leverage just to see what I can get out of it. What do you think, would it be worth trying?

Good Idea.. I got my first run ball at 600 dull with a 4 by 4 layout with no X - Hole and it great for my late leauge and Fresh conditions ..Then I got a New Energy with a lev. layout and it great when heads go away and the backend needs  help.
