Dyno Thane's description says this ball has length with a "hocky-stick" reaction... but some people on here say that it didn't hook much and they had to scuff it up to get it to hook on the backend...
What's the deal?

The guy that regularly throws Dynothane in my Monday league has been shooting at least 225 or better with this ball since he's had it in his hands. I think he kept the ball at box surface and it seems to be long length with a steady arc at the back end. I'm guessing if people had to scuff it a little they are bowling on medium or medium/heavy conditions, as I thought the ball was meant for mediums and medium/light conditions...

When I first used my Crisis Pearl I was bowling on left overs so the backend wasn't very clean...on that condition I could see a scuff'd surface helping the balls reaction. Now on a fresh shot or broken down condition this ball shines with its box surface. Glides through hooking heads with ease and make a nice hard arc back to the whole. The ball isn't overly jerky and keep you in play very well.
At a tournament this past weekend the practice lanes we were given had a ton of early hook in the middle of the lane. While most people were forced to either up the edge or playing a deep fade I was able to play my Crisis Pearl right around 4th arrow with about a 8 board swing and crushed the whole. Too bad the tournament shot plaid different as I had a great look on that pattern with this ball.
I honestly think that some people might be using the ball on less than clean backends, oil patterns that are too long or lane oils that are too slick for the ball. With any ball this could be a problem...but when you are using a lighter oil ball the problems are compounded.
