Whats worse is that the proshop jerks sell these types these balls. I found it rather amusing when I walked into a local center and found the scratch league leader in average for the house bowling next to me. He was ripping the pocket with a columbia SCOUT reactive. I walk into the proshop and no lie here, the least aggressive ball I see sitting in the pile waiting to be drilled is the Hammer Blade Solid. I was taking my Too Hot in to have it polished up a little, b/c it was reading too early for me. The proshop guy and I started shootin the bull a bit about balls, and come to find out there was a guy with a brain running the shop! He asked me what I had in the bag, I told him I had the Element and the Vendetta Particle with me and an Anomaly, messenger TEC, messenger pearl...ect at home he looks at me and says "I've never seen you bowl in my life, but I know by what you are bringing to me that you know more about bowling than 98% of the ppl that bowl here" He says its litterally IMPOSSIBLE to talk ppl into the ball they need, they all read the "hook rating" and want the biggest. Its so funny to me to watch the leader in the house with a 239 avg (cupcake shot and rediculas carry) walk in with a Scout and plastic and dominate the guys hurling track's ball of the week. I can't honestly find a reason to own a ball that has more hook POTENTIAL than anything dyno offers, in fact I wish there was something weaker out there, but thats me. Its really a marketing ploy, you have to have the biggest ball out there GO BUY IT! I say grow some balls i mean hand and throw a "medium" solid reactive out there on the "heavy oil" and you will still have enough. its just nuts how much ppl are expecting the ball to do and get so disapointed when it burns up in their backswing. I LOVE bowling against these guys, laugh all the way to the bank.
