crap....My luck
« on: November 22, 2005, 04:49:29 AM »
Well, bowling in my home center in the great town of Shelby, NC, my black vendetta got a nice huge chunk of the bridge taken out.  Well, they ordered me another one an of course with my luck, their supplier is giving them bs about not being able to get the ball anymore.  So now I put the option up to you all for some help here.  They're willing to get any ball that's the same price.  Of course I want to stick to dyno-thane obviously.  Here's the list of what I have and how drilled.

Black Solid (with chunk out of bridge)

Crisis Pearl

Thing Returns

Vendetta Sniper (just sold.  went straight on carry down)

I'm just curious as to what you guys think I should go for going off of what I have.  Thought about going for the Vendetta Pearl but am affraid it will resemble the crisis pearl too much.  Thought about another sniper but am affraid ill get something similar in reaction which i dont want.  Still have some carry down issues.  Can get anything off the higher line and pay the difference I'm sure.  Going to get the fingers slugged then drilled to fix the bridge.  Tried to get it plugged but the plugging has cracked out pretty bad within a couple weeks.  Just let me know your opinions please.  I need to tell them by tomorrow so I can get this ball asap.

Thanks,
nick

Oh I know they are.  I was going to order another one a while back.  I told the people at the bowling center and even talked to their distributer directly.  They said they could no longer get the ball and I assured them I knew as a fact that they could.  Hell, it took them a month to send the wrong ball to me instead of telling me they couldnt get it in the 1st place.  If we had a pro shop I dont think it would be an issue.  Instead the ordering is handled by the assistant manager.  They're just being a pain which is why its leaving me to get a newer release because they dont want to go through the hassle of picking up the phone at the distributer and calling and ordering me one.  It took the distributer 2 months to get my friends energy and thing lives.  Their excuse is that they dont deal with Dyno-Thane much so they dont keep much in stock.

You could drill a Maxx to break harder on the backend and polish it up if you can't get a solid. That or they're not trying hard enough!

Oh splendid! This calls for a sexy party!

Thanks for the replies everyone.  I really do appreciate it.  I'm not happy at all with the crap I've gone through with this distributer and dont understand what their deal is.  Once again, thanks for the help.

I have personnally ordered three Vendetta Black Solids from the site above in the past two weeks.  price is $95.98 plus shipping.  Balls arrived within two - three days after placing the order each time.

Good luck

Oh trust me, if the ball wasnt being replaced by the bowling center I know of numerous places I could order the ball from.  Its just with them replacing it they only want to go through the distributer which is where the problem is coming from.

Though I would have loved to get another black to actually replace the one that was damaged, the center told me since they were having such a problem getting me what I wanted they'd let me choose a ball and they'd cover the price difference.  I decided to get the centrifugal mass.  i've wanted the ball since it came out and have a need for something to battle carry down and have read only positive reviews on it so far so I'm going to give it a try.  The supplier said they'd have some in the first of next week so hopefully within a week or 2 i'll have it.

So, anyone know a good way to fix a bridge with a chunk out of it.  I already know plugging and redrilling in same location doent work well.  How about slugging the finger?  would that be a good idea?

Not real sure.  Make it worse, the supplier is located in Tennessee.  That's the state next to me!!!  They never get a ball here within a week.  Its always at least a week, usually longer.
