Drill suggestion for ZR40
« on: March 06, 2006, 03:16:52 PM »
I am a no-thumb(90% of the time) low tracker with alot of side roll. My PAP is 4" over and nothing up or down. I have a 15lb. NIB ZR40 on the way and its suppose to be 3-3.5 pin and between 2-4 oz. top. I want it to be a strong arc motion on medium shots synthetic lanes. I want decent length with a strong continuos arcing backend. What would you suggest? Thanks for any help you can offer.

I'm no expert, but the ZR40 should react pretty much how you describe wanting it with most drills.  I'd probably sugges something like 4.5 x 4 ors something similar.  Probably place the pin above the fingers.

Chef: Well, if you want him to get really fat as fast as possible, one of you will have to marry him.
Stan: Marry him?
Chef: It definitely worked for every woman I've ever met.

The Pearl cover will give you some length.  Think about going with a 4.5 X 3.75.  This should place the CG out to help increase late roll and add backend control.  You will most likely need a weight hole.  Pin under the fingers will also help get ball to read midlane.  Since your description indicates more of a spinner tendency ((I am a no-thumb(90% of the time) low tracker with alot of side roll. My PAP is 4" over and nothing up or down.)) I doubt that you have much of a problem getting length.  This layout should provide you with some versatility as well.

If you want something stornger look at a 4x3 pin above fingers.  This will be more aggressive throughout the entire lane and should be able to handle more med to med-heavy oil patterns.

Good Luck
