Hi there, my first topic post in the Dyno Thane forum.
My inquiry: I am generally looking for a medium performance ball (no manufacturer fixed), a solid reactive for medium conditions and late games on medium to oily shots with a track, to replace my aging Vicious Attack (at 1.500 grit sanded, pin above ring about 4 1/2" from PAP, CG stacked, details about me in my profile).
One of the few balls that have come to my attention is the Vendetta Black Solid which could fill the "hole" in my arsenal. I'd like to stick basically to my stacked layout, since it works very well for my style.
Since I never used Dyno Thane before and have no benchmark, I have two very basic questions, maybe someone who uses/used the ball can help:
1) Does not Dyno Thane use Storm coverstocks on teh balls? If so, does anyone know which material is used? The VBS has been on the market for some years now, and it should not be Reactor, or...?
2) How adaptable is the VBS' coverstock to changes? I's surely not use it on heavy oil, (see above), so I tghink about either a compund finish or a higher grit on it. Does anyone have experience in this prep area?
3) How prone is the ball to lose eneryg prematurely in burnt heads (esp. with a shinier surface than OOB)?
Any input on this or general comments about the ball are welcome.
Thank you in advance
