Just threw my THING LIVES!
« on: October 26, 2004, 05:32:37 PM »
This ball is very strong on the backend, and that's with the ball being sanded with 600 grit scotchbrite too!

Even this dull, this ball still stores up a lot of energy.

Just used it on a true Medium/Heavy Oil and this ball hooks! A guy on my team was using the Apex Addiction but my THING LIVES was the ball for this shot.

Carries great! I hope and pray that this SOAKER coverstock does indeed hold up and this ball stays this strong and does die off like all these other balls I've had!

It's drilled PIN above ring and CG 1" right of grip. Like a 5 x 4.

Wow and that's hardly the stongest layout you can use.

I'm a huge fan of this ball.  Very nice roll and very usable... with enough oil.  I have one waiting to be drilled.  I'm taking a little time off from bowling, so I think I"ll punch it after the new year.  But it's definitely a keeper!

This ball is so strong!

Used it on a TRUE Medium/Heavy Oil shot and had more area than most!

I like it a ton!

Not toating my own horn... but Phil has got a great ball here!

Just used my THING LIVES again tonight on a shot that required a sanded finish bowling ball... that's right we had some oil tonight! They have been fooling with the shot... beforehand we could use polished stuff. One of my teamates, who has not used a sanded ball all year, had to use one tonight because of the volume of oil out there (he used a Power Diesel) and he ended up shooting 763.

And I used my THING LIVES sanded to 600 grit and shot 759... a 6-7-10 split (which I converted ) and a solid 8-pin (which I also converted ) cost me 800. Both of these came in the middle of a string of strikes or else I may have shot something big.

Can't say enough about this ball!!!

I am really hoping to hear some feedback from someone with some hand who has one of these and an Anomaly.  The Anomaly has been getting some mixed reviews lately, but the Thing Lives is getting really good reviews.  The staffers love this ball, but most don't see enough oil to use it frequently.

I'm not going to call this ball an extreme oil ball, but in my opinion... with the one Thing Lives I have... it handles heavier oil conditions than the Anomaly.

More than the core, I credit the new SoakerX coverstock.  Not even I... being the bean spiller I am... know how much additive was added to the original Soaker formula.  But I think they nailed this one.  No surface prep needed... out of box usable.

Good bowling!  It's good to hear people's feedback after several sets with a ball.

I have 2 Thing Lives,...one is a 5 x 3, the other is a 4 x 6. Both are awesome. The 5 x 3 is my fresh shot ball,...long and strong, This is the one I shot 300 with the first game I every used it in league. The second shined last weekend in a tournament where the carry down and dry track was one of the worst over/unders I've seen this year. I usually die on this shot and the straighties run off and leave me,...not so with this ball. The ball played great with a nice smooth arc, and a heavy hard hitting roll,..The ball was easy to control, didn't jump off the dry,..and kicked the corners time after time. I haven't touched the surface of either. My next event is the Sr High Roller in Vegas, these 2 already have their ticket.
