You see, this is why I hesitate to post on here.  You guys have it all wrong.

To silence you fools, the scent is carne asada.  The ball is not plastic, but a midline particle reactive.  The particle is light load cilantro.  We've fused in some capsaicin to give some extra bite.  I personally gave some chest hair for that extra macho style.  The ball goes long and flips hard and slaps the pins around, like my drunk uncle does his dog.  The ball will be "wife beater" white.  It's not a popular color, but I wanted something unique.  

I'm calling it the Holmes.  So you can throw the ball and say "Come on Holmes! Strike!"
