LET'S SAY
« on: July 20, 2006, 05:01:32 AM »
you wake up in the morning and find out all your bowling equipment has been destroyed or stolen. You only have enough financial resourses at the time to purchase 3 balls whatwould you buy? Jim I don't want to hear you'd call Phil beggin for money or equipment, LOL

Au79 (Rico), Black (4.5x3.25 light shine), Zr40 (4x3 spun to 4000 w/polish)

Au79 gives strong midlane read with hard, continuous arc, great on fresh sport conditions
Black provides good length and recovery, good for spotty heads, very versatile
Zr40 extreme control and unbelievable carry, can use inside or up the boards as conditions dictate

Honorable mention goes to the 44 Mag.  I have a hard time not putting it on this list as it is another unbelievable ball.  Extremely versatile, great carry, good looks to boot!  It could easily replace the black if drilled a bit weaker with longer pin for added distance.

Something similar has happened to me.  Orthopedic surgeon suggested I use lighter bowling balls since I had problems with my shoulder toward the end of the season.  I pretty much gave away all of my 15 pound balls and needed to get 14 pound balls.  Since I don't have any 14# balls as of the moment (or for that matter I don't own ANY bowling balls at all right now) I'm looking forward to drilling up four Vendetta Magnum 44s and the Threshold that I'm excited to get in the coming days.  I'm also getting a 14# White Dot to make those dang pesky spares.
