I have to believe that the most general drilling for MOST balls, for MOST releases is still the label oriented one, AKA the 1:30, but with the pin in the dead center of the grip for zero side and finger and the pin about 3" away at about 1:30 position.
This is more properly called a 105 degree drilling, with the line from pin to PAP being at an angle of 105 degrees to the line from the CG to the PAP.
If your track is very close to the thumb and relatively close to the finger, there may be a slightly higher degree of utility if the angle is closer to 75 degrees; this is commonly referred to as "stacked leverage", even if for most people the pin and the CG or the MB are not truly stacked one upon the other.
The more you rev the ball, the more the 1:30 drilling will have utility for you
and the less useful a 75 degree drilling will be.
