Rev X Pearl.... ABC approved?
« on: April 17, 2007, 02:27:17 PM »
http://www.bowlingballreviews.com/ball.asp?ballid=139

Just trying to figure out if this ball was ever approved by the ABC/WIBC.  It was approved by the PBA late in '99, but I did not find the pearl version on the approved list at bowl.com.

Can anyone help me out?

I had the Rev-X pearl. The Rev-X (probably the solid) is on the list. Of the 4,124,579 balls on the list, I'm sure it's just a typo that this one is not on the list. Why not email the USBC and ask?

I'm 99.9999% sure it's legal to use. The only question is if you bowl an honor score with it.

You're more than likely correct.  Went back to the shop and looked at the box, which has both the PBA and the ABC/WIBC approved logos on it.

By the way, If it was approved by the PBA, that is almost a guarantee that it had to have already been approved by the ABC.

If you use it bowl an honor score and happen to want the award that goes with it, I'd keep the box just in case. Did you email the USBC about the approval?

FYI The core is a high flaring one; be careful about weight holes and such.
BTM loved the REV-X; I loved the original DT balls, but I didn't have any success with the pearl. But back then I didn't know squat about drilling and coverstock changes.
