I used to have rule gp2 the pure energy is much closer than the centrifugal mass is in reaction shape, i have a 4 x4 drilled pure energy and it handles alot of oil. The CM is slight step down in oil basically a medium heavy ball i have it drilled pin over ring and mb stepup for medium with carrydown. Bringing the cap in a stronger position would help some on oil volume but the cover is more flippy so i would go with pure energy as a direct replacement.
I do like the CM reaction better so it depends on your speed and how heavy of oil your shot really is, when the CM hits the pocket it carrys plain and simple in my only 2 games with it not a single 10 pin for me. I used the Action the same set and left 4 10 pins in a row, made the switch game 2 and 3 to the CM and besides 1 greek church when i got slow and a baby 3-10 split was clean and mainly solid strikes.
The pure energy needs head oil to retain long enough in box to be effective, when it hits dry it does have the gp2 backend, so i am not condemning this ball at all. You cant go wrong with either ball if you really want a killer mediums lighter oil ball get a vendetta sniper throw a safe drilling like a 4 x 4 on it and strike all day. The best part is the vendetta sniper is too cheap and works with every style, vendettas are the best steal in bowling ball pro shops.
