Dyno-thane's New Ball The Threshold - Now Online!
« on: August 01, 2006, 01:08:57 PM »
Most of you DT Fans already know the details, however now the Dyno-thane website is up to date with the new Max Performance ball, The Threshold.

http://www.dynothane.com/

I have not thrown this ball yet, but from what I'm told it has received the best scores ever given to a ball, on all lane conditions, as tested by Bowling This Month magazine.  I'll let Phil or Billy chime in here to give details.

The short of it is that this ball reacts like a high performance reactive while handing the oil volumes typically left for particles.   Billy thinks I'll like this ball... my guess is that I'll never use it.  It outhooks anything in the DT line.  Uh huh, I need that.

*wink*

Now send me a case of them Billy!  *shakes fist in the air*

Someone needs to fix the "Oil Condition" scale.  It's the same as the length scale.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

*whistles innocently*

Yes, we are aware of this.

The folks that do the print ads are the ones that create those guides.  Billy is on the road right now so updating this part might take a few more days.  I'll be sure to keep you guys updated.

A little off topic. Will Forums ever be added to the DT website?

Hmm... that is a good question.  We were planning on doing it because there were so many bad users on this website.  Since then things have chilled out.

For now, however, I think the DT team is using this website as a support forum.  If dynothane.com were to open a support forum, however, you could expect that all the support would be moved there and this place would no longer have it.

I'll chat with the guys to see what their plans are.

Hey bamaster, that's cool, but please remove the Coming Soon and the Forum headings on the website.  That has been teasing us since the new site was launched.  Also, remember, everyone that visits the Dyno website might not be signed up here.  There would be plenty of questions on both message boards.

Ok, I've updated the Reaction Guides.  A few of the balls have been "retired" as well.  Thanks for your patience guys.

I notice that the reaction curves for the other two balls changed when the Threshold was added.  The CM used to be much cleaner through the heads and much more angular.  The Zr40 had a much bigger hook as well.

I noticed that as well with the Thing Lives.  Older reaction charts, like in a previous catalog and on bowlersdream.com had it much smoother, much more arcy.  The chart that was on the website just prior to these updates had it very clean through the heads with a lot of backend.

What gives?

Yup.  This guide... like all/most of the others... are not designed to be taken too literally.  These lines have to be adjusted to show the differences, relative to each other.  The Threshold changed all the lines.  The Centrifugal Mass is no longer the "most hook" so that pushes everything over.

I wasn't aware of the arc-ness of the balls being changed.  It could have been a mistake, I don't know.  If an adjustment is in order I am sure Billy will make them.

It is good to know that you guys are studying to the content we provide.

The reaction lines are relative to each other. I had to re-test them all together in order to have a good test. So basically, what Tony said....

Gotcha.
