What to expect with 3" PTP distance on Threshold
« on: August 10, 2006, 02:30:57 PM »
Getting the Threshold and I know it has a rep so far for being a beast. I love 3" pin to pap distance and have had more luck with this type layout than most others. I just ain't sure about putting it on this ball though. I don't want it to roll at my feet. I like the ball to start fairly early and be arcy on the back yet be contiuous. Is this ball just to strong for a 3x3 or 3x2 drill?

Well first off, you need to disregard the CG in terms of distance to PAP.  The CAP placement is much more important.  And I would say a 3" pin placement would work on the ball, but it would be very condition specific (heavier volumes).  I would say something like 4 1/2" with a 60 degree CAP placement would be much more versatile on medium to heavy patterns.

Put your favorite drilling in it and adjust the surface to control the distance.

I know I always have that option, but I would like to keep the ball OOB if possible.
