Drilled up this RED beauty last night just before league. It came with a 3 1/2" pin, 3 oz top. After talking to otherguy, I went with a 4"x3" layout, with the pin just above the ring for me, with the cg on the span center line. A 7/8" hole was drilled 6" over on the center line to get the weights legal. I bowl on a heavy-oil THS, with good fresh backends. I usually use my Mag 44, or Threshold, both work great in this house, and start about 17 to 8, and moving all 3 games.
But since I had this one ready to go I went with it. I had to go up the boards naturally, since it's no where near as strong as the other two. I was playing near the fresh oil line, about 9, with a slight swing, to about 5-6. As usual with a new ball, I had to work on the thumb hole trying to get the fit just right. I managed a 4 bagger and stayed clean for 219. The thumb wasn't quite right, but the second game I managed a spare, (stone
, a sevenbagger, and two whiffs in the 9th and tenth, wild shots from hanging in the thumb, for a 234. I finally got the thumb right the last game, front 11 and a pretty good ball that left a very stuborn 10 pin,...752. In a house where I usually have to move at least 2 and 2 every game, I never moved all night !! This ball with it's out of the box shine, and smooth hard arc-roll, let me stay outside all night, and get better with each game. This ball clears the heads like a hot knife thru butter, revs up and keeps the pins going straight back. This shiny RED and Yellow ball drew looks from all up and down the center, everyone wanted to know what I was throwing...The color is a hit, and the reaction is another great release fron D/T...jime
