I've never seen the RevX.  I looked it up but I cannot find any numbers on it.  So it's a little hard to make a comparison without knowing its characteristics.  

The only high performance pearl ball in the lineup is the Vendetta.  This ball will clear the lanes very well and makes an aggressive turn.  This ball is slightly jumpy for me.  Of course I have lots of hand and not enough ball speed, so lots of equipment is jumpy.  

The other ball to consider is the Crisis.  This is the onyl ball Phil has decided to keep from the equipment he inherited when he took over.  It's a nice ball.  Overall a control ball... nice length and medium flip.  

The least aggressive ball is the Barrage of course.  I have two of them and use them only when everything else hooks too much.  It's not a ball I recommend on fresh oil since it is so mild.  But when the lanes are scorched, it really shines.

Phil has already leaked that his next ball will be a solid resin ball.  Expect it next month.  One thing I like about solid resin balls is the versatility of the coverstock.  They polish very well and scuff up if needed.  So you may want to wait for this ball to come out.  Start with a medium-aggressive layout and give it plenty of polish.  Should give you the length of a pearl ball and the hitting power of a solid.  I'm waiting for Phil's reviews of the test balls before I start pitching it.  But he's on a hot streak with the Element and Thing.  I'm pretty eager to get my hands on it.

I had one, when it first came out, Feb 2000. I drilled it based on BTM's review since no one locally had any knowledge of it. WHops! Big mistake. Another ball BTM and I had major disagreement on. I drilled it with pin above and to the right of the ring and CG slightly off grip center (+ side and finegr weights), no weight hole. The ball had a large over/under problem even with the dull/matte finish pearl cover. I changed the cover a few times, but should have re-drilled it; didn't.
Part of the learning experience, I guess.
I think I took the pick axe to it one evening ....

I had one a couple of years ago and it was a very good ball for meduim lanes, not that great on carrydown.  What I do remember most was it made a very unique "crack" sound when it hit.  Carry was very good though.
