Would This Arsenal Work?
« on: January 04, 2004, 03:41:10 PM »
Here is what i am aiming at for my arsenal.

1)Anomaly- Heavy Oil, kept at 600 sanded. Drilling layout 2 on DynoThane drill sheet.
2)Element- Medium to Heavy Oil, kept at 800 sanded. Drilling layout 2 on DynoThane sheet.
3)Thing- Medium Oil, kept box finish. Drilling layout 1 on DynoThane drill sheet.
4)Thing Returns- Medium to Light Oil, kept at 1200 polished. Drilling layout 1 on DynoThane drill sheet.
5)Vendatta Pearl- Light Oil, kept at 2000 polished. Drilling layout 4 on DynoThane drill sheet.

Any info on how this arsenal would do i would really appreicate it?

Thanks a bunch,

Craig

I think you'd have to much overlap w/ the Vendetta and Thing Returns. This was discussed a couple weeks ago , maybe you can find it on the DT board.

However, I'd drop the Thing Returns, slide the Vendetta in that spot, and add a Barrage for light oil.

Da Lefty,...I like your selection,..a lot depends on how much you hook the ball, and the conditions you bowl on...the left side usually doesn't break down as much as the right, and the list you have has a nice progression that should keep you in the game for quite a while...you may have a gap on the low end, or for dry lanes, as mentioned, the Barrage is a great dry lane ball. For really dry I use either my Crisis, or my Barrage, both drilled weak and polished. good luck.

Frankly, of this group, I'd drop the Thing, keep the Thing Returns, add in a polished Barrage....oh wait, I've already done that....  For me, the Thing Returns provide less overlap with the Element and a smoother transition in terms of conditions covered to the Vendetta Pearl than does the Thing.  I also prefer the reaction of the TR.  However, I do think you need something for the drier side, so the Barrage.  If you prefer more even equipment, drop the Thing Returns for the Thing and drop the Vendetta Pearl for the Solid.

I got the Vendatta Pearl and Element for Christmas, They will be here by friday. I want to order the Thing, Thing Returns and Anomaly. Also by adding a highly polished Barrage, Do you think that could cover really dry lanes and still use it has a spare ball? Any info would be great.

Thanks a bunch,

The Barrage is a no-brainer ball choice for dry lanes.  It'll still hook, it is resin.  So if you hook at your spares, I recommend plastic.  If you throw fairly straight at your spares, the Barrage would work of course.

Congrats on your Vendetta and Element. Send in a full report once you have bowled a few sets with them.
