Vendetta Black Solid, Which Layout?

Dynothaners, I was looking to buy a Vendetta Black Solid and probably bring the surface up to 1000 and then hit it with some polish.  If I do that, and I am looking for a reaction that will be versatile and be able to cover any medium condition, which Dynothane Drilling Layout do you suggest?

FWIW my best guess is -
leave it at its stock 800 grit and try it on your medium league oil pattern. See how it reacts. Then go from there.

There are 49 or 50 sorts of ways to get length via polish and finer sanding. I'd only experiment after you've tried the ball SEVERAL TIMES on SEVERAL PATTERNS.

I know I have a very close track to that of a 3/4 roller.  That and I get around the ball a good amount, but still keep the track close to the finger holes upon release.  Also, I know I am considered a "High Track Player".
