The Crisis Pearl

With a Crisis Pearl in my hands and a torched lane. I didn't need anything else. Drilled 5x5 and ready to bang!!

This ball gave me what I have been lacking between the Vendetta Pearl and my Barrage.
With the addition of this ball to the family...There won't be a need fore a Barrage Pearl now!!

Glad to hear it.

Some time ago there was talk of a new Barrage... something with more of a core but with the same mild reactive coverstock.  It would fit between the Barrage and Crisis.

The Crisis Pearl is a great release.  Especially for the heavy handed bowlers like me.  Sport bowlers will appreciate its usability.  

I'd still like to see a new Barrage.  PBA regionals see a lot of scorched heads and carry down.  Forces the bowler in deep... I need a ball to recover from the deep angels.  I have two Crisis Pearls... one of them will have a pin between and under the fingers with the CG kicked out.  That should help clear fried heads and still let the ball recover.

Tony, I agree with you on this ball. I do have a second Crisis Pearl that will have the pin above the ring finger with a half pos cg swing and no XH. I will be drilling tomorrow and will let you know what I think in a few days!!

DD...you're able to get some recovery out of your's?  I drilled mine 5 x 4 with the pin just above my fingers and a w/h just below my pap (on my val).  I've only had one chance to throw it thus far (left overs from our junior's league) but the ball reacted like a pearl urethane for me.  I had to square up to the lane and play up 7 or so.  I still need to try it out on a fresh shot (tomorrow night), but until I see some of my late block tournament shots I'm not sure how much use this ball is going to get.

I used mine in league Thurs night cause they were hooking more than normal. I found that when I broke the surface with a light scuff the ball hooked and stopped and created more area. It allowed me to not have to stand on top of the dry as I had to with out of the box finish. Only had 2 balls out of the pocket after the surface adjustment. Out of the box with the pin on the center grip line and the cg out 4 from my pap it was too long before it moved and was too violent after it moved. The surface adjustment made it perfect for the league conditions we see at this house, second shift synthetics and blended.

Thanks...that's what I was hoping a surface change would do for the ball.  I'll just hit it with grey ScotchBrite before I use it tomorrow.

Tried the CP again yesterday during our practice session.  Lanes were left over from a first shift league and the lanes were drier than normal.  Tried the ball in box finish and was pleasently surprised by the ball reaction I got.  I'm guessing the oil was just too long and heavy for the CP to have worked the first time I threw it.

Have any of you thrown both all three: Crisis, Crisis Pearl, and Barrage?  It seems like the Crisis Pearl would fit between the Crisis and Barrage when it comes to handling the dryer conditions.

I'm shopping for a Christmas present for my brother - he wants something for dry lanes.  I have a Barrage and I believe it would be just a little too weak for him.  A small step up would be just the ticket.  Looking to go Dyno-Thane to get him to try a new company (which I think he'll do if the equipment is free!)

I think that's a fair estimate of what / where the CP fits in the Dynothane line.  Your brother should like the ball...just don't drill it too strong.
