pick me a ball
« on: January 05, 2006, 02:34:36 PM »
Looking for a ball for the wife, medium revs, and speed(15mph) med to light oil likes to play up second arrow. Need a ball too go long with good backend. That will be alittle forgiving if tugged. Thinking of either the Vendetta reactive pearl or, the Crisis Pearl. I understand drilling plays a major roll in the reaction but basically which one would be better? Would the crisis pearl be to strong?

Other's may feel free to correct me as I have not thrown one, but it seems to me that the Energy would be what the doctor ordered.  I've never thrown a Crisis, but the Vendetta pearl is a pretty strong ball, my buddy has to play pretty left to right with it even on med-heav oil.  It would seem to me that the Energy, possibly an AU79, or (if you can find one) a Thing Returns would be the best bets for playing up the 2nd on medium to light oil.

I Agree with PInDaddy.  An Energy is a good ball for those conditions.  If it is too strong, just shine it up a little more.  If you need a little more grip on the lanes, the AU79 is a great choice.  They ARE available.  A female on my bowling team just bought an AU79.  We bowl on Med--Heavy oiled lanes with lots of carrydown.

The Vendetta should be stronger than the Crisi Pearl.

I have the thing returns and that ball is great but it tends to be to jumpy. Does anyone throw the Vendetta Reactive Pearl (not the particle pearl).Whats the reaction on that ball? Dyno-thane said its more straight down and in. The Energy is a good idea. Did Dyno-thane pull all the ones without resin in the cover? Or are they still out there? Thanks everyone for the input.

As far as I know the bad ones have been pulled.  I asked the same question when I got mine.  The Energy will handle longer oil patterns compared to the Vendetta Pearl.  Go to the Dyno website and look at the reaction chart.  That might give you a better idea.

I did go there, thats why I'm asking ,cuz they all seam to be very close to one another. Think I will go with the Energy that seams to be the best fit. Thanks for the help.

I agree the Vendetta is stronger than the Crisis.  However I find when the oil starts moving down, the Energy wil still move.  The Vendetta Pearl gets a little more incosistant as the oil moves towards the pins.  I also have a CM now and that has really been my goto ball.  The CM can be drilled for slower speed players.  Using the Delay pin and giving it a shine might be a good choice also for your wife.

I almost rolled a 300 with a "bad" energy the other night. I was aiming for the first arrow and with medium revs it was just nailing the pocket. anyone that can play that far outside regularly will love this ball.

I think a shined up sniper might be a good choice. exspcially if u need something to still hit if you tug it into the oil.
