44 is stronger in the midlane and will handle a bit more oil (from my experience with both).

I have a 357 Magnum.  I would not recommend it for oil.  It is extremely sensitive to oil and I use it only on the driest lanes.

the 44 mag it will handle more oil but it will not handle a lot of it. If your wife has very few revs and a slower ball speed you may consider picking up a sniper which would probably be a better  ball for her. I have all three on would say the 357 is good but probably just not the ball you are looking for. Go with the sniper or the 44 mag.

No doubt in my mind that the 44 is stronger.  Depending on surface prep, the 44 can handle heavy oil down to med/light.  I currently have 3 44's as my arsenal, all with different drillings and different surface preps.

If you can find one, the original Energy is the only way to go.  I've gone through three and still have one boxed up in the corner.  It's burgundy/violet in color and hits like a tank in any pound.  Strong backend and smooth roll. When in doubt, Energy, Energy, and oh yes, Energy.

The word is that a new and improved Energy is supposed to be in the works.  If D/T can improve on that ball, the Feds might start sniffing around their warehouse.
