Question about a DynoThane Cure...
« on: April 05, 2006, 04:28:24 PM »
Figured I'd ask the experts since the last DynoThane balls I owned were a Concept Cubic R and a Concept EFx.

I'm getting a Cure here in the next week or so. I'm trying to set this ball up to be my heavy oil ball. My next least aggressive ball is a Storm Dark Thunder that is drilled more for medium-heavy conditions rather than heavy.

I was just wanting to know some of your experiences with the Cure, whether this ball is going to be able to do what I want it to do, and suggestions on the drilling. I'm expecting delivery of a ball that is about a 2.5 pin and 2-2.5 top weight.

Should be a great ball for heavy oil...if you do get it drilled for True heavy oil you probably won't really be able to use it well on a THS, as it would most likely burn up before getting to the pocket.

I had to take my CM up to 2000 grit before it became useable on a house shot, otherwise the thing burned up before it even hit the dry boards.

Yeah. You know, I had a guy in Jackson county. He had a little drum circle in his backyard. It turned into a drum circle four miles in diameter. You get a few hippies playing drums and next thing you know, you got yourself a colony.

What made me decide to pull the trigger on it was the flare potential. Also, the price -- I was considering a MoRich Total Shock & Awe, but this ball came in about $200 cheaper -- plus the fact that I like balls that have a connection to Storm, which is the company I've had the best success with over the years. And, I wanted to try another DT ball after having not owned one for so many years.

I typically have my balls drilled pin-over-bride or pin-over ring, with the CG either in the palm or swung out to the right just a smidge. Sounds like I'll get what I was looking for.

Wish I did. I ended up giving it to a kid that was just learning how to throw a hook a couple of years ago. He's done pretty well with it.

I also wish I still had the Cubic R, but by the time I got through with it I could hook a plastic ball about the same number of boards. The coverstock on that ball really died suddenly.
