Question about the Thing Returns
« on: January 19, 2004, 04:23:29 AM »
I'm currently considering purchasing The Thing Returns, but I have a question about it. I have Silver Streak Pearl drilled 4 x 4 that I'm using on a house shot (43' with dry backends). Would a Thing Returns overlap my Silver Streak Pearl? I'm looking to get more length so I can play a deeper shot, cover more boards, but have a much more angular backend movement. My SSP checks up way too soon for me (too long with polish), so I want the extra length and flip. I was also thinking of drilling the Thing Returns 4 x 4, would the reaction be too close to the SSP? Or not even close?

Thanks,

Josh

Josh,

The SSP is 2.52 rg w/ a .040 diff.  The TR is 2.56 rg w/ a .045 diff.  By these numbers, the TR should go longer and flare more than the SSP,...however, 99.999% of the time , coverstock rules.

You're saying the the 4x4 SSP checks up a little too quick and polished it's too long......OK, I'd drill the TR 4 1/4 or 4 1/2x4 and it may work.  The only thing is, I'm not sure how the coverstocks compare.  I DO know though , that the SSP cover/core combo is perfect...and that is what makes it so strong.
