I'm curious about the AU79. I've seen 2 in action locally, but only briefly, impressed w/ what I've seen. Appears to be a good medium condition ball, stores energy and carries real well. Can you people that know this ball tell me more about it, how it compares to other manuf. balls i.e. Track, Storm, Ebonite, Bruns?

I had one with a longer pin(5-5.5") drilled with the pin over the bridge and it was a great ball for playing a deep, controlled inside line. I still miss that ball. I think this will be a similar ball to an Intense Inferno on the Big B side of the aisle. I had an II and it reacted very similar to the Au79.

Intense Inferno is a pretty good choice to compare to, but the AU79 will handle a little more oil than II. Both are long and VERY angular.

For me the Element Au79 is longer than my Intense Inferno, with more back end. Intense handles fresh/longer oil better. Au79 is awesome on most any medium condition, long, good back ends, strong hit through the pins. Very clean in the front, may be too clean for those with good ball speed/no hand on fresh oil. Your mileage may vary.....

Mike I don't know how both yours were drilled, but My II and AU79 were drilled nearly the same. 5x3 with pins both high above bridge. They were both long with the au79 just a hair longer and made the stronger move. However, my au79 handled more oil and the fresh longer oil better than the II. That was my experience.

Actually both of mine were drilled the same and similar to yours. Pin over the fingers on the span line, cg slightly positive, no hole. That is kinda my default layout. About a 4 3/4 by 4, approx.

The Intense, while long for an Inferno ball, was not nearly as clean as the Au79. The Au79 would over/under on fresh/long oil. I liked it better when the track had broken down a little, or the pattern was kinda short. The Intense needed head oil, and if it was fresh and around 30-35 feet, even better.

My ball speed is probably slower than yours, and I probably have as much or more rev rate. That is why I try to throw in the your mileage may vary disclaimer. Oh well!
