i just forgot some technique for sanding a ball , can anyone help me? i was told before that if i use a 600 grit sand paper vs a 800 grit one, the ball will hook 4 boards more, is it right? can anybody help?

Who ever told you was generalizing. On certain conditions the lesser sanded ball will hook more due to storing energy. Give a little more info. Are you referring to the Particle or the resin also?
At 800 is it skating too much or is it burning too much energy and looking weak?
