I think you're comparing apples and oranges.
Super Sonic is high RG, solid resin; its low RG Diff will result in low amounts of flare & reduced hook. Vendetta Pearl is medium-low RG, medium-high RG Diff resin pearl; it normally is very flippy. Without unusual drillings, the VP will handle slightly more oil than the SS, even though it is a pearl.
The SS will "normally" help smooth things out on over/under conditions, because it is a solid. Your placing the pin above the bridge reduces one of the SS's saving graces and makes it more flippy (but probably not a skid/flip ball) than it could be with a lower, but not low pin position. The extra polish makes it inclined to be more flippy also.
Regarding drilling for this "torn up house shot", my theoretical and practical preference has been to go for longer pin-to-PAP drillings, but lower pin positions, at the fingers or slightly below; I realize your track is kind of high and you need to be careful of pin positions. Given the VERY low RG Diff on the SS, this will not make a huge difference. I believe, the cover is what's preventing you from using this ball well. While the RG is high, the cover is not a weak one. I had a similar problem with its predecessor, the Sonic-X solid.
The Crisis pearl is a good option, as it's a very even reacting pearl. Given that you had to have a high pin position on the SS AND had to sand it to 4000 grit, the Barrage may be a better option.
It's hard to tell with words just how "torn-up" the shot is. One other option to reduce flippiness in the SS is to smooth down the cover to prevent the over-reaction. Have you tried 4000 grit smooth, i.e. without polish?? You might have to move deeper, but it won't flip as hard.
