Shoe question.

What do I do with my tour ultras now that the stitching has worn out of the leather outer most ring? It is starting to seperate and become a problem sliding. Can I send these somewhere to get resoled? Any info would be appreciated.

Ok thanks new guy for your timely response. Let me see if I follow you correctly. I pick out the most used sole and go to a shoe repair place and trry to find a mtach and replace the whole sole. I wont be able to change out sliding sole though? FYI it is the sewn part of the sole that is coming lose from the stitchin wearing out. I have only ever used one sole but dont remember wich one it was I think it was the solid leather one with the most slide. Can I get just the leather ring replaced is that what you are saying. Any more info would be appreciated.

Hey new guy, just curious what is around the outside now? It looks like the deer skin but I was just wanting to clarify. I believe what you are saying is have the sole cut to fit around the outside like the other piece did that way you can still change the main sole. Am I correct?

All I know is if stitching ever came undone
in my dexters they would have been fixed
or REPLACED FREE of charge.

My Dexters (sst1) which were the 1st of the SST series at the time had all the stitching come loose within 6 weeks. When my pro shop sent them to Dexter, I got a nice letter and a $20.00 credit to a new pair, shoes cost over $50 back then. I immediately switched to Linds, and have worn them ever since!

Now that Linds does not make my fav Exxxxtra's any more, the next pair will be the ABS. I even tried the Dexter 6 lx's, and gave them to my son, felt like "clown shoes"...too big, too heavy.

I have had alot more problems with dexters that I have with the abs so far. I had several pair of dexters that have had the painted/dyed leather peal off "3 pair of them" And 4 pair have had the velcro come lose on the sole or the non sliding shoe split open in the front. I went through a pair of dexter shoes once every fall season. So far the abs seam to be holding up a little better and seem to be more repairable. They also look alot better than the dexters would @ this stage of the season. Just my experiences with dexter.
