I just picked up a high energy and was surprised at the tame nature of the coverstock. The ball revs up well but has a very tame move. Will the cover get stronger with more games??

Yes...
...hey that was a Jim kind of answer wasn't it?
Soaker take a little while to break in, but I'm surprise that your HE isn't hooking hard for you, mine sure does. What other balls have you compared it with on the same patter and how did you drill yours? Did you leave it box condition?

It is box finish. Drilled with the pin at finger height about 4 inches from Pap. Cg gives about 3/8 of + side and finger weight. No weight hole. Thrown on a fresh house shot that was playing very tight. Also tried next to a Bruiser and a Havoc both at 800 grit. Both with close to leverage drills. The MB on the Havoc was on the VAL. None of the balls really wanted to turn the corner. The HE was flaring all of the way down the lane. You could see the engine spinning. It just looked like the ball needed tires with more grip. In the third game as the lane opened up I got a stronger move, but it was very late causing a lot of ten pin leaves. I was hoping for an earlier move.

All of my Soakers required several games to break in... Both of my Thing Lives are at least 3 boards stronger after 60+ games. I am bowling only on synthetics now and I am seeing little to no tracking on the coverstock. You are seeing the durability of the cover... Just give it time you'll see what we all mean.
