How does the rg and diff numbers change as you decrease weight from 16#? I looked on the DT website and did not see any charts so I will assume they are consistant to 14#. But you know what they say about assuming anything

The other question I have is the gripping characteristics of a 16 vs a 15# ball with the same coverstock. How much does 1# truely effect this given the small footprint on the lane?

A while back I did some estimating calculating the psi difference between a 15 and 16 # given an estimated contact area and was surprised at the large difference but wondered how this really translated into something useful.

Hopefully New Guy will answer this, but I understand if he doesn't. Maybe any other physics major's out there can help me out?

We have a formula that calculates the rg and diff variance across a wide spectrum of weights. The Rg difference from 16 to 13 is usually the 3rd decimal point for instance a 2.550 15 lb ball which is the weight we usually target may yield a 2.549 or so 16lb and a 2.56 or so 14lb. The difference is usually not noticeable. The footprint on the lane is cause by the weight of the ball, friction and the resin but varies with each blend of resin so it is not the same for all products but the performance is a product of all the parts.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

If you took two Vendetta Blacks,one 15 the other 16, and drilled them the same and were able to launch them at the same speed and rev rate, how would the reactions differ?

Would it be enough to worry about?
