Dynothane ABS Tour Ultra shoes
« on: January 23, 2004, 07:11:20 AM »
Guys,

I am thinking about getting a pair of these and was curious what everyone that has them thinks.. Are they comfortable? I currently have some Dexter sst6's and they are OK, just wanting to try some different shoes..

Also, what kind of cash will I have to pay for them..

All comments good or bad are welcome..

Thanks in advance!!

I have had a pair of Tour Ultras for over a year now with no problems.I bowl 4 nights a week plus tournaments so they get alot of use....

They are more adjustable than my DexterSS6's and also more than my Linds EXXTRA's I sold both about 6 months ago....

They are very lightweight and the leather is very soft and sizes run true....

I see more and more people with them so the word must be getting out on how good they really are....

The only thing you will want to order is the Adjustable heel that they offer, or the new Leather heel that just came out both work well....

As far as price goes I got mine from Buddies Pro Shop they are $135.50 thats the best price I have seen them for....

P.S. Thanks again for buying my Emerald I hope it works great for you....

Mongo,

Thanks for the comments. Do they seem pretty durable? Also, what color do you have? I am leaning towards the silver and black ones. I think they look good..

Randy T,

Thanks for the info.. Just one question, what are you talking about ordering an extra heel? Will the heels that come with them not work for some reason? I think its supposed to come with 4 of them..

Please clarify..

My pair is over a year old & still look like new.  My son's pair are are close to 2 years old & look like new & no wear is to be found on any part of the shoes.  He could not get a set of Dexter 5's to last 6 months.  Great shoe. I love the new heal set up with replaceable strips.

I too was curious about these shoes and found a "like new" pair of the Tour Ultras (black) on Ebay. Ended up winning for $76 - just over 1/2 price of new pair - you can't even tell that they are used. I almost bought a pair from Buddies just after Christmas - I think they have the best prices.
I had a pair of SST5 and they were showing their age. I LOVE my new shoes, they are so comfortable, plus they come with several options for sole and heels. You can buy other heels too. I'm using one of the cleat soles with teflon plugs and the regular heel. Works for me.

What I meant by the adjustable heel is...Yes it comes with 4 types of heels but they make another one that has velcro strips on the heel.Just gives you even more choices.I'm sure Doug can get them or Buddies they run about $20.Check Buddies Pro Shop web site they have them on there.

I have the all black ones the other combinations weren't available when I got mine. There are a couple of guys that have the other shades they look good also.

Let me know......

Jim, I just messaged you about these. As for price, Buddies was 135 + shipping. Amazon.com also has them if you do a search for dynothane, one of their suppliers sells them for 139.95. Dont hesitate on these Jim, you wont regret it!

I love my Tour Ultras... had them for a year now.  Look very durable and I bowl 2 leagues and weekend tourneys.  Much better than my previous Dexter SST5's.  And they are very very comfortable.  I couldn't be happier.

For getting them... I think Buddies Pro Shop is the best for price.  You can't go wrong getting them there, and if you beat their price somewhere else then you are doing really good.

I've had my Tour Ultras for just one week. So far these shoes have been all I thought they would be. They are comfortable and feel softer on the foot than the SST 5s I've been using previously. They are certainly more adjustable than the SST 5s. I found a really good cleat/heal configuration which gave me a very controlled slide step. Time will tell but I certainly hope that the Tour Ultras will last longer than the SST 5s (2.5 years).
