Believe it or not my black solid is overall more aggressive than my Thing lives, both balls are drilled the same way. I thought by TL being a high end ball and reading the specs of the ball, I thought it would be a more aggressive ball than the black solid, but that is not the case. Has this happended to anyone else or is it just me? Both balls are out of box.

Mine are very close, but on heavier oil the TL will prevail. Now if I were to take the VB back down to 600 smooth...it might be close on heavy oil! I love both, but the TL is better on heavy oil and the VB is great for anything medium-heavy and down...given the right surface prep.

My black Vendetta's are my go to ball. I use them on every condition and can not use the agressive stuff in any of my leagues. The core in the vendetta match up perfectly to my game. What a shock since it's my design. This could be what you are seeing as well. I have all of them sanded to 2000 and they work perfectly and the difference between them and the high end stuff for me is minimal. Simply put the high flare stuff goes too early and does not allow me to open up the house shots. I have not seen too much oil in years so I can not comment on the performance of the high flare stuff in competition. I do test the high flare balls and the vendettas side by side when we do ball tests on heavier oil and that's when I see the difference. Hope this helps.

Well were I live we have a great amount of oil, mainly med-heavy on a fresh shot. For Heavy oil I use the AU79 sanded to 600 grit, the problem i am having is what ball to use for Med-Heavy Oil, The Thing Lives or the Vendetta Black, Since both of them react about the same, I was gone to play with the coverstocks. Would you suggest keeping the thing lives in out of box condition and using it for Med-heavy oil and Polishing the Vendetta Black for med-oil or keep the Vendetta Black in out of box condition and use it for Med-Heavy Oil, or polish the The Thing Lives for Med-oil. This may sound confusing and if it does sorry.

Otherguy I was kind of thinking along those lines, but I just wanted some feedback, although I may not take it all the way up to 1500 grit, because I have my Red/Black vendetta at 1500 grit and I use it for med-light oil. Anymore feedback on this subject are welcomed.

I don't know about discountinued but they are sure hard to find.

The Black Vendetta is not discontinued and we have them in stock.

My Vendetta Black is very strong as well. But on the heavy sauce, The Thing Lives outperforms it... as it should.
On medium oil the Vendetta seems to flip harder... more angular... but that may be because it goes longer before reading the lane, where the Thing Lives reads so much sooner and never gets a chance to "flip".
We all have to remember to use the balls that the balls were made for.
