Thing Returns vs. The One
« on: February 13, 2006, 03:28:57 AM »
Just out of my own curiosity, how would these 2 compare to each other with similar layout and oob surfaces.  I currently have the Thing Returns and threw a friends The One and was actually impressed with it though I know it will probably be dead long before my Thing Returns.  They have much different layouts though.  Just curious how these 2 compare.

Anyone have a clue how these 2 would compare drilled similarly?

The thing returns is not as much ball as the One is...they both provide good length with a sharp move in the backend, but the one is more of an oil ball and has more backend (although some would debate this with the OOB finish).

The thing returns is more of a medium light to medium conditions ball, and yes I'm sure you willl find that it last much longer than the One.

The DT ball that would probably be more similar to the one would be the Centrifugal Mass.

Congrats with the average bump...DT balls carry, that's all I can say.  I won some money getting a strike last week at Monte Carlo and I didn't even hit the headpin at all. (3-6 pocket equals strike? ... who knew.)

Thanks for the reply.  Was just curious about this one.  I have the Centrifugal Mass but actually didnt think about a comparison there actually.  Maybe another CM with a drilling the way i ACTUALLY want it may give me a similar reaction to the one.  you didnt know 3-6 meant strike?  You been trying to hit that "pocket" thing again? :-)

yeah...pocket hits are overrated.

The CM probably won't give you as much length as the One without some surface prep, but the backend is there...maybe put the pin about 5" from your PAP and the cap in the power position.
