Thing vs Thing Lives vs Thing Returns

On medium-heavy oil, #3 drilling, looking for a decent curve. Which one would you suggest?

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks a lot!

Would be better if we had info on what type of bowler you are. If you have medium to higher revs, the Thing would be good with that drilling (high flare) and maybe a little rougher surface. Would have a nice smooth break. If you have lower revs, the Thing lives with that drilling would be better in med-heavy oil, and it would be stronger off of the breakpoint.

I suppose I use high revs, with a stroke. I've only been bowling (seriously) for about 2 months. I'm still trying to find that "magic" angle, and proper way to make my ball curve how I want it to. But, yeah, high revs. :-P

Go with the Vendetta Black or High Energy to start out with.  Both balls are pretty arcy and hard rolling and take to surface adjustments well.  Great benchmark balls which is always what your first ball should be.

Of the three Thing balls the best benchmark would be the Thing I would imagine.

Yeah. You know, I had a guy in Jackson county. He had a little drum circle in his backyard. It turned into a drum circle four miles in diameter. You get a few hippies playing drums and next thing you know, you got yourself a colony.

Then the original Thing.

It comes shined, so if it isn't as aggressive as you want, you can sand it down a little.

I have both the Thing the TL, and the Thing is a great ball. Versatile with a lot of control so it would be a good ball to start with. The TL might be a little more violent than you want at your level.

I like those ideas too.

Well, I already have a Vendetta original black solid that I use for light oil. I was just wanting something to use when I go early in the afternoon, when the oil is still fresh on the lanes, you know? So you guys would suggest the Thing..alright then. Thanks alot everyone!
