I recently bought a 357 magnum and sniper since they were on the close out list and I could pick them both up for under a hundred bucks. So i punched them both up and am loveing the 357 all the way around. this ball is money and reminds me of my THING I had a few years back. Very good all around bench mark ball for me and pretty much able to stay with it all night. The sniper hasnt seen a game of action yet do to the versatility of the 357. I wanted the sniper for carry down but find that the 357 is still playable when carry down is present wich supprised me. I want a 44 mag but am wonder how much overlap or how similar it would be to the 357 and sniper wich are both drilled pin high 4" above midline 5-1/2" over from pap and cg in a 75 degree angle. on the 44 i would probably go with my other favorite drill pin 1" above midline 5-1/2" over from pap and cg in a 45* angle. I heard the 44 is a more midlane than the 357 so this would probably be a good controle layout for me to take place of my infamous original inferno. Any thoughts on this?

the 357 is by nature longer and snappy compare to the 44. I see 3-4 ft difference in the length of the two balls with the same layout, the 357 being longer and more angular than the 44. The 44 does read earlier than the solid pearl (357), it rolls smoother and is less jumpy than the 357, more control at the break point.

Who said they were on a site??? A close out list you usualy get from your local distributor if your a pro shop, they come out with the list of stuff that didnt move very well and have a moderate inventory of. Yes the 357 magnum was on or distibutors close out list, it doesnt mean its discontinued or anything it just means it isnt moveing very well for them so its a close out. I rarely go out and by the latest and greatest ball because I can wait for a few months and save 30,40 sometimes 60-70 dollars on a ball I want if I am patient enough to wait. I see people on here all the time selling stuff thats on close out so show a little patience and reep the rewards lol.

Interesting. I was just ready to order a .357.
How does it compare to the Threshold?

Thanks! Ordered a .357 earlier. Don't really see anything heavy around here - might consider it if I sign up for a PBA experience league. I might have something that can handle the heavy stuff (Scorchin', Animal, Reaction Arc, Solid Uranium, Road Hawg, Total Annihilation), but I won't know until I actually see it.
Really needed something for more medium to light stuff, and I hear the 357 is pretty good with carry down.
