D/T Ball Suggestion
« on: September 28, 2006, 05:30:15 PM »
I am currently using:

Threshold
Polished over box finish with some Delayed Reaction
Layout: 5" Pin over fingers with MB in strong position with an X hole.

357
Box finish.
Layout: 4 3/4" Pin in ring finger drilled out X  4" CG, no xhole (7/8 side).

My specs:
4 3/4 x 1/8" PAP. 13.5-14.2 Speed.

My question is this.   I bowl mostly on 2nd shift conditions.   I would
like to choose a 3rd D/T ball to add to my arsenal.  The issue becomes that
both balls start rolling up early towards the end of the night and I do not
have the ball speed to force them down the lane.   Which ball, layout and
surface prep would be a good compliment to these two?

Thanks,
Joe

Either ball (Crisis Pearl/ZR40 will do it.  Crisis Pearl oob would do it ok, but will not move as many boards as the ZR40.  If you can find one, the Vendetta Pearl is a great ball for those conditions.

There's a NIB 15lb original Vendetta Pearl (red/black) up on Ebay.

Jim, A Zr40?  Mine was a little too strong for what I think Joe wants.  Why not try a 44Magnum with a similar drilling?

goof,...my Z with a high 5 3/4" pin is great on dry tracks,..plus the 1000 slows down the jump...

You could bring the ZR40 up in surface a bit, or just get the White and Blue Vendetta Pearl.  They are discontinued, but I just got one for my friend.  They are out there.

How would one of the Pearl V's react compared to the
357 with a similiar layout?  Or I am open to a different
layout.  I just know that I have finally found a few pieces
that really match up well with the conditions I am facing
on 2nd shift and I want to run with it.

Thanks,
Joe

Vendetta Pearl will go much longer before rolling up, (2.53RG VS 2.46RG (357)) but cover the same amount of board considering they both have the same diff.  .042.  They will both have more movement than the Crisis which has a diff of .033.
